Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Management
Guru Nanak Institute of Engineering and Management (GNIEM), Naushehra (Dalewal), Hoshiarpur is a self financed, multi disciplinary leading engineering institution in Punjab, India. The institution was established in the year 2009 with the view of providing quality education and to inculcate a spirit of social relevance among the young technocrats. Within 5 years of its inception, GNIEM has become one of the premier engineering college in Punjab and due to its excellent academic delivery with the state of art techniques, sophisticated, ultra modern labs and workshops with effective placements.
The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and the Government of Punjab and is affiliated to I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University(IKG-PTU), Jalandhar. At present, GNIEM is running five programs of Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in different disciplines such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering.
The B.Tech is an undergraduate academic degree conferred after completion of a four year program of studies. The course is career oriented and practice based with elaborate and comprehensive practical exposure through visits to technological institutions. Seminars and lectures by experts are an essential part of the curriculum. The 10+2/Intermediate pass candidates with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry background are eligible to join this course. This degree enables the students to work as professional engineers in their respective fields or eligible for bank P.O. technical, Railways Engineering Services (RES), I.E.S., I.A.S., and may pursue higher education like M.Tech, Ph.D. Integrated etc.

B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical Engineering aims to provide education in the oldest branch of engineering , enabling the students to develop the ability to design, plan & manage the latest technologies in the field of technology coupled with inter disciplinary knowledge. The primary focus of the department is to develop professionals who are fit to face the challenges of the modern world of 21st century.
Students of mechanical engineering study an intensive academic programme that includes courses such as Machine Drawing, Design, Strength of Materials, Theory of Machines, Fluid Mechanics & Machinery, Automobile Engineering, Industrial Automation & Robotics, CAD/CAM, Numerical Methodology, Total Quality Management, Human Resources & Management, Operations Research, Heat Transfer, Mechanical Measurements and Metrology.
This engineering field requires a detailed understanding of certain core concepts like mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity. The students of Mechanical engineering at GNIEM use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided design, and product lifecycle management . They are trained to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems and transport system.
B.Tech in Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering is the most versatile branch of engineering. It has a lot of diversity right from structural to transportation engineering, environmental to hydraulics engineering, geology to earthquake engineering. The Civil Engineering Department of GNIEM offers instruction for this degree, emphasizing four core tracks in Civil Engineering. It creates outstanding engineers through advanced teaching-learning methodology with effective research facilities to help them in their special interests. Students are imparted not merely technical knowledge but also interpersonal skills, which is useful to excel in the fast-paced competitive world.
The objective of instruction in civil engineering is to prepare graduates for professional practice through a programme based on strong technical skills, fundamentals, hands on learning and professionalism. The graduates with degree in this field are capable of providing consultancy services to government, private, public and industrial sectors.
B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering
Computer Science & Engineering integrates several fields of Engineering and Technology. Computer Engineers are involved in various hardware and software aspects of computing, like microprocessors, personal computers and circuit design. This field of engineering also focuses on how computer systems themselves work, and how they integrate into the larger picture. Department of Computer Science & Engineering in GNIEM has developed into a vibrant centre of teaching and research. B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering
